Voskehat

Voskehat

Armenia · White · Available (A–B)

“Golden berry,” and by consensus the finest Armenian white — grown mainly in Aragatsotn and Ararat. Late-ripening, it gives fresh white fruit, citrus, cut grass, alpine flowers and beeswax with good acidity, and vines over 150 years old survive. Handles oak, lees ageing and skin contact well. Historically much of the crop went to brandy under Soviet planning; the shift back to wine is recent and the best examples now reach export markets.
