Gamza (Kadarka)

Gamza (Kadarka)

Bulgaria · Red · Limited (B)

Grown on the Danubian Plain, around Suhindol, Pleven and Novo Selo. Genetically identical to Hungary’s Kadarka. Thin-skinned and rot-prone, giving light-to-medium body, high acidity, pale colour and red cherry and white pepper aromatics. Plantings have shrunk badly, but a handful of producers make serious versions.
