Krstač

Krstač

Montenegro · White · Limited (B)

The signature Montenegrin white. Its name comes from the shape of the bunch, which resembles a cross, and it is believed to be autochthonous to Montenegro, probably originating around Beri near Podgorica within a growing area of only 40–50 km. Typically dry and pale, with a crisp character showing citrus, green apple and floral notes. Attempts to establish it elsewhere have not succeeded, and commercial production is effectively confined to a single producer. Regional synonyms include Krstača Bijela, Bijeli Krstač and Bijela Vinogradarska.
