Berat, in the centre-south. Revived by wineries including Çobo in Berat, it produces brilliantly golden wines with tropical and stone fruit, pomelo and white flowers, balanced by lively acidity and a creamy, slightly oily texture. Notable for depth and regional character. On current evidence the most promising Albanian white.
